Graduate Assistant for Leadership and Budgeting
Average 20 hours a week | $20/Hr.

GENERAL SUMMARY: 
As a vital member of the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership (OSIL), the Graduate Assistant (GA) supports administrative tasks and programming efforts overseen by the department. The GA is accountable to and provides direct support to the OSIL Director in developing a diverse, learning-centered culture for all OSIL programs (student leadership, campus activities, service learning, commuter/non-traditional student programs, and programming).  
 
The GA serves as the primary point person for all budget and financial operations of the Associated Students of Seattle Pacific (ASSP) and will facilitate student representation in university finances. The GA will advise and mentor the ASSP Treasurer and work closely with the ASSP Club Coordinator to assist student clubs with financial procedures, as well as develop Club/ASSP finance training and presentations.  

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 
 
OSIL:
• Assist the Director and programs of the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership.  
• Partner with OSIL staff to coordinate programming and events for a diverse undergraduate student population. 
• Recruitment, training, and coordination of OSIL Student Leadership Development Committee (SLDC) and programs. 
• Provides leadership in the operations of record keeping, tracking, and documentation, and knowledge of financial documents and processes. 
• Oversees and provides guidance in the preparation of contracts and other related documents as necessary.  
• Meets weekly with OSIL Director for one-on-one supervision and participates in the weekly OSIL department meeting.  
• Participates in Community Life and Student Formation Community Engagement (SFCE) meetings and retreats, as able.  
• Performs other related duties as assigned 

ASSP Advisor and Finance: 
• Advises, mentors, and trains the ASSP Treasurer on the financial procedure of ASSP, including student club finance procedures and Student Budget Committee. 
• Advise and facilitate ASSP Finance Board. 
• In partnership with the ASSP Club Coordinator and OSIL Advisor to Student Clubs, oversees the training and the budgeting process for campus clubs. 
• Be responsible for and will directly manage the year-end close of all ASSP accounts before the end of the SPU fiscal year.  
• Coordinates the transfer of all remaining balances in eligible ASSP funds to be transferred to or from the Rollover Contingency Fund.  
• Oversees the operational and allocation of ASSP finances and its procedures.
