Overview

Computer & Information Systems is hiring CIS HelpDesk Technicians for Summer and Fall. As a member of our Technology Services Support (TSS) Team, CIS HelpDesk Technicians provide support to SPU faculty, staff, and students on topics like account and login support, computer hardware and software, SPU systems like the Banner Info System, network connectivity issues, and more. All Majors are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per week, but may work up to as many as 20 during the academic year. During break periods, hires are eligible to work up to 40 hours per week. 

This position does qualify for work study. The pay range is $18.69 - $22.00; depending on experience.

Required Skillset

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to think critically and analyze problems
  • Ability to work both independently and part of a team
  • Attention to detail and ability to stay organized
  • Desire to help others and learn more about technology

Preferred Skillset

  • Previous experience providing technical support
  • Hands on experience with both Windows and Mac PC's
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office (primarily Excel, Word, Outlook, & PowerPoint)
  • Hands on Audio/Visual experience
