Join the Facilities team and gain valuable work experience. The motorpool assistant supports the Motorpool Auto Mechanic in maintaining the university's fleet of vehicles.  

Part-time position (10-15 hrs/week) available immediately
Hourly wage: $16.69

 Job Duties:
*  Wash and vacuum fleet vehicles
*  Pick up parts and run errands for Motorpool Mechanic
* Change oil in university fleet vehicles
* Perform minor repairs (depending on skill level)
*  Update tracking spreadsheet with maintenance & repairs performed on vehicles
*  Assist Motorpool Automotive Mechanic with other jobs as required
 
Qualifications:
* Valid driver’s license required; must maintain good driving record
(Will need to pass SPU’s driver requirements before driving a university vehicle is allowed)
* Must be a self-motivated, reliable, flexible individual
*  Ability to take direction easily, work in a team environment as well as independently
*  Ability to follow specific verbal and written instructions; attention to detail
*  Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
*  Experience changing oil in vehicles
* Have basic mechanical knowledge and skills
* Able to commit to a regular work schedule arranged around your classes each academic quarter
* Physically bble to wear personal protective gear - gloves, safety glasses, face covering.
