Intramural Student Supervisor

SPU Intramurals (IM) is looking for one or two student supervisors to work directly with the IM Coordinator throughout the ’21-’22 school year. A student supervisor is responsible for the following:

·       Hiring student officials for all sports and fitness classes

·       Schedule student officials for each sport and fitness class

·       Train and supervise student officials

·       Being able to understand imleagues.com and how to schedule, post scores, and create brackets for playoffs and championships

·       Have flexibility to attend and supervise games throughout each season

·       Posting on Instagram and Facebook promoting sports and classes

·       Work and communicate with IM Coordinator on a regular basis to schedule out each season/quarter, all sports and classes are staffed, if new equipment is needed, and a regular check-in

Successful student supervisors will have:

·       Time management skills – balance school, meetings, and availability for evening games/classes

·       Communication skills – on top of e-mails, other communication channels, to promptly respond to IM Coordinator, officials, and player inquiries

·       Familiarity with SPU Engage

Preferred but not required:

·       Previous exposure to recreational and/or club sports

·       Participation in SPU IM

Hired student supervisors will be trained via Zoom and in person (once school starts) to understand imleagues.com, scheduling, and all the ins and outs of the position.
