Network/Telecom Student Worker
Description of Duties:
Duties may include some or all of the following:
- Provide tier 1 support for telephone and network issues in residence halls and campus offices and classrooms.
- Provide support for and maintenance of voice and data communications equipment.
- Assist Network Administrators in the maintenance of the campus network infrastructure.
- Support of cable television equipment and infrastructure.
- Assist with creating and updating records of communications systems, cabling and services.
- Duties include report generation, filing, and system monitoring.
- Daily monitoring, updating and documentation of Tickets/Tasks as assigned to Student Workers.
- Other duties, as necessary.
Skills / Qualifications / Experience Required:
- Interest in Telecommunications and Data Networking.
- Basic knowledge of network and communications equipment preferred.
- Good interpersonal communications skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Detail, task oriented work style.
- Must be customer oriented.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Experience with troubleshooting preferred.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 10 to 12 hours per week during school.
- Must be able to work Summer Quarter
