Network/Telecom Student Worker

Description of Duties:
Duties may include some or all of the following:
  • Provide tier 1 support for telephone and network issues in residence halls and campus offices and classrooms.
  • Provide support for and maintenance of voice and data communications equipment.
  • Assist Network Administrators in the maintenance of the campus network infrastructure.
  • Support of cable television equipment and infrastructure.
  • Assist with creating and updating records of communications systems, cabling and services.
  • Duties include report generation, filing, and system monitoring.
  • Daily monitoring, updating and documentation of Tickets/Tasks as assigned to Student Workers.
  • Other duties, as necessary.
 
Skills / Qualifications / Experience Required:
  • Interest in Telecommunications and Data Networking.
  • Basic knowledge of network and communications equipment preferred.
  • Good interpersonal communications skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Detail, task oriented work style.
  • Must be customer oriented.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Experience with troubleshooting preferred.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 10 to 12 hours per week during school.
  • Must be able to work Summer Quarter
