Social Media Specialist - Job Posting


Social Media Specialist Job Purpose:

Assist the SCC Program Coordinator by using your marketing and social media management skills to architect and enhance SCC social media presences, including interacting with campus community, promoting mental health and wellness-focused interactive and engaging content, and expanding opportunities for outreach. Works with the SCC Program Coordinator to create innovative social media campaigns.


Social Media Specialist Job Duties:

●     Creates marketing and social media campaigns and strategies, including content ideation and implementation schedules
●     Ensures brand consistency in marketing and social media messages by working with various SCC staff members, including advertising, product development, and brand management
●     Integrates content and social media messaging that reflects and celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion
●     Provides training and guidance to social media and marketing team members on social media implementation best practices and strategies
●     Collects audience data and analyses interactions and visits, plus uses this information to create comprehensive reports and improve future marketing strategies and campaigns
●     Reports progress to SCC Program Coordinator
●     Grows and expands SCC social media presence into new social media platforms, plus increases presence on existing platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram
●     Researches and monitors activity of comparable university counseling centers
●     Creates and distributes engaging written or graphic content in the form of e-newsletters, web page and blog content, or social media messages


Social Media Specialist Required Skills and Qualifications:

●     One Year of Experience with Social Media Management
●     Marketing Experience
●     Content Creation Experience
●     Technologically proficient
●     Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
●     Attention to Detail
●     Self-Motivated
●     Creative Problem-Solving Skills
●     Experience with Major Social Media Platforms
●     Interest in psychology and mental health promotion


Social Media Specialist Desired Skills and Qualifications:

●     Degree in Communications or Marketing
●     Two+ Years of Experience with Social Media Management
●     Copywriting experience
●     Graphic Design
●     Web Design and Strategy
●     Data Collection and Analysis


Compensation

This is a part-time (~4-8 hours/week), remote position, active during the academic year (December-June). Compensation will be competitive and dependent on experience and qualifications; benefits ineligible. Start date negotiable, preferably by January 5, 2021.
