IT Technology Assistant - Federal and State Work Study

The IT Assistant position assist professional staff with providing computer hardware, software and technical support to Solid Ground staff at up to 4 locations under the direction of the Solid Ground IT department. Work duties include:

Updating and maintaining client computers at HQ, Sand Point, Broadview and South Park locations; resolving internet and network access issues (both wired and wireless); providing network printer support; providing one-on-one technical assistance as needed/requested; Providing training to clients on software and hardware use; determining causes of computer/software/network malfunctions through evaluation and testing and resolution via modifications, repair, or external support assistance; Monitoring antivirus software and updates and repair computers infected with spyware, adware and/or viruses; Monitoring wfi access points and fixing problems with them; Helping users with 365 use and remote access; Other duties as assigned. 

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
• Experience with Windows 7 & 10 in technical support environment
•Experience supporting Microsoft Office Applications
• Knowledge and interest in PC industry trends and computer information technology 
• Excellent Communication skills. Ability to work well with a culturally diverse population and with a variety of personalities
• 6 months experience (paid or volunteer) with computer desktop support in a networked environment preferred
