Maintenance Assistant - Federal and State Work Study

The Solid Ground facilities function provides facilities support to the entire agency, in its service to the 60,000 clients Solid Ground serves annually. This position provides technical and administrative support including but not limited to completing daily planned or unplanned maintenance activities for our Headquarters, offsite residential housing, or transportation location. Tasks may include assisting with creating a work order system, conducting monthly safety inspections, completing moving, painting or other maintenance tasks, alone or with others, purchasing or acquiring necessary supplies, participating in safety inspections or discussions with workgroups about technology or facility work. Depending on skills, can develop leadership in certain areas. Assistant will serve mostly agency employees and through them, the people we serve. 

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

• Ability to undertake tasks as directed and identify needed tasks to be completed, alone or in a group, can be self  directed.
• Ability to complete maintenance tasks with training
• Some computer efficiency, for workorders, timesheets or occasional email
• Ability to work well with a culturally diverse population and with a variety of pers
