North Beach Elementary School Tutor - Federal Work Study

Tutors/Classroom Assistants Needed

Tutoring can include: Class-room assistance during math, reading, and writing, one-on-one work, small group work, playground supervision, some clerical work. 
School day runs M-F from 8:00 until 2:25, except Wednesday until 1:10. There may be opportunity to tutor students remotely after school, so working from home would be a possibility Student tutors usually work a shift of three to six hours, one to three days per week. Pay rate is $16.39 per hour plus sick leave based on time worked. 
Tutors must have the ability to work positively and effectively with K-5 students and their teachers. Tutors need to demonstrate commitment, responsibility and dependability in working with the students and teachers. 
This is a unique opportunity for those majoring in education. Tutoring gives you the opportunity to interact with elementary students, try out your skills and knowledge and see how a school runs. Our students get the benefit of your ongoing education course work and passion for teaching.  We do hire tutors from all college majors, not just education.
