Name of Position: Graduate Assistant

Purpose/Role: Serves as administrative support for the School of Business, Government, and Economics (SBGE) graduate programs. Assists the program director and associate dean in both student engagement and community partnerships - including on-campus recruitment, open house events, and other special projects as directed by Supervisor. Assists with general communication and marketing. Attends to general office duties for graduate business programs. As a team member you will support, develop, and communicate the goals and graduate programs of SBGE. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
1.  Provide administrative support for SBGE graduate programs, program director, and associate dean, including work on various special projects. Process application materials (scan and upload documents) and respond to application status inquiries. Information and event coordinating assistance for SBGE graduate programs and events. Data collection and research as requested.
 
2.  Assist with communication and publicity between the SBGE graduate programs office and other campus offices, external organizations, and partners. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 
3.  Complete special projects or tasks as assigned by staff and faculty.

4.  Represent the goals and mission of SBGE graduate programs.

Qualifications:

1.   Education: Currently enrolled in an SPU Graduate Program, masters level or higher
 
2.   Experience: 
1+ years of office experience in a professional or academic environment, demonstrating the ability to be detail-oriented, professional and able to work independently.
1+ years of customer service experience, with an ability to communicate sensitively with very diverse clientele including ethnic minority and international individuals, students, staff, faculty and parents.
 
3.   Licensure/Certification: US work authorization required
 
4.   Other Considerations:   
 
A vital Christian faith comfortably expressed with Christians and non-Christians alike; strong problem-solving skills; calm in conflict situations; competence with multi-tasking; and outstanding written and oral communication abilities. Comfortable with learning new systems and software programs. 
 
Length of Employment: quarterly
