Residence Life Central Reception Office Assistant

The Office Assistant position within the Office of Residence Life supports the professional staff within the office as well as students, parents, faculty, and staff. This position provides opportunities to create a welcoming environment for all constituents that interact and engage with the office. Office Assistants need to approach tasks as critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and responsible leaders. Additionally, Office Assistants are expected to maintain accurate records, complete computer data entry tasks, organize filing systems, speak confidently & comfortably, and collaborate with other 2nd SUB staff.

Qualifications:
  • Must be available to start at the beginning of winter quarter 2019 (week of 1/3/2019)
  • Flexible hours/part-time; approximately 8 hours per week for winter quarter with option for additional/increased hours in spring quarter
  • SPU undergraduate student
  • Ability to process detailed information in a timely manner
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Be in good conduct standing with the University
  • Knowledge of residence halls and campus resources
  • Basic computer skills required; Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Assist with office tasks; filing, typing, data entry, photocopying
  • Cover central reception desk; direct visitors to appropriate departments, answer questions
  • Run daily campus errands
  • Assist with RLC selection files
  • Keep Res Life files & office space organized and data confidential
  • Research information related to departmental plans, programs & procedures
