SPFC Social Media Coordinator

We are seeking a student with marketing and social media expertise to strengthen the School of Psychology, Family, and Community’s social media presence.
  • The Social Media Coordinator must organize and execute a consistent outreach strategy using social media applications (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) for promotion of the School of Psychology, Family, and Community. The primary goals of this position are to share a variety of daily experiences within our programs (includes Undergraduate Psychology, Clinical Psychology Ph.D. graduate program, Industrial-Organizational Psychology M.A. and Ph.D. graduate programs, and Marriage & Family Therapy M.A. graduate program), to attract prospective undergraduate and graduate students throughout the world, and to increase and nurture on-going connection with our SPU alumni.
  • The Social Media Coordinator will create and post regular--if not daily--content for the Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts established within SPFC programs.
  • The social media coordinator must be a student in good standing and must have experience in promotional strategies using various social media platforms. It is also expected that the social media coordinator possess well-developed skills in digital photography and graphic design with a fresh, appealing, and engaging design aesthetic. Applicants must demonstrate good judgment and professionalism in their real and virtual representation of SPFC at all times.
  • The social media work station is housed at the SPFC Front Desk. While on duty, the social media coordinator will also be the initial point of contact for greeting SPFC front desk visitors, answering general questions, and performing other front-desk duties by phone, email, and in-person interaction as needed during each shift. The ability to prioritize and complete tasks is vital.
  • All majors are invited to apply, but preference will be given to applicants with interest/experience in visual communication, graphic design, and marketing.
  • Ideally, we are looking for a student to fill this position for the remainder of the 2018-19 school year. Depending on class schedule and availability, the hours may range from 8-12 hours per week—preferably scheduled in shifts between 8:30 a.m. and noon.
