Undergraduate Research Assistant

Job Title: Undergraduate Research Assistant

Job Description:

Our group is focused on improving the quality and access of radiation therapy for cancer. In May 2017 we began work on a grant-funded project to develop simple, cost-effective technology for the delivery of radiation therapy that will improve access in low- and middle-income countries. In these regions of the world the need for cancer care is growing strongly but the access to that care is extremely limited. We are developing a new generation of treatment device that is approximately ten times less expensive than current technologies, is more reliable and has many fewer requirements in terms of staff and training resources.

Specific tasks relevant to the position posted include: computer simulations of radiation therapy treatment plans, development of software to facilitate radiation dose calculations, and analysis of data gathered from the partner sites funded under this project. Experience in programming with python or equivalent is strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications: Undergraduates with a major in Physics or Engineering

Minimum Experience: Computer simulations and data analysis
