Disability Support Services (DSS) Production & Office Assistant

Primary duties:
·  Textbook conversion and management
·  Braille embossing/tactile graphics
· Test proctoring/scribing
· Project management
· Administrative tasks
· Data collection and input

Job Description:
· Convert physical books into accessible alternative formats using a variety of equipment, programs, and software..
· Convert print and electronic materials into accessible formats – including Braille – for students with print-related disabilities.  (Braille conversions and related projects are time-consuming tasks that require focused visual concentration and often entail the use of specialized software to create tactile graphics. Training will be provided upon hire)
· Coordinate production of quarterly student and faculty accommodation letters using Internet Native Banner.
· Assist with arrangement of alternate format exam accommodations for authorized students and their faculty.
· Manage technology support and tracking of loaned out devices. Input, generate and analyze data in the DSS database. Help proctor midterm and final examinations
· Assist Disability Services AD with various projects and tasks as assigned.
· Represent DSS and the Center for Learning with excellent customer service skills, assisting students in any way needed.
· Perform other administrative duties such as scheduling, data input, filing, copying, and other tasks assigned by the professional staff.

· Demonstrated ability to work in deadline-driven and high activity environment, and to effectively coordinate competing priorities.
· Ability to assess and adapt to the needs of individual students.
· Technologically savvy and proficient and willing to learn new programs and equipment as needed.
· Proficient with Microsoft Word, Office, and Excel
Hours Needed:
· During the academic year, hours typically between 8am-5pm, with occasional evening hours as needed for proctoring or lab support.
