Multi-Ethnic Programs Graduate Staff

Job Description:
Partner with Multi-Ethnic Programs staff to mentor and support students from culturally diverse backgrounds and identities, in particular, students who participated in Early Connections Orientation. Research and develop best practices and assessment tools for the department. Participate in Early Connections orientation, September 17-19, 2018, assisting as needed, and in ongoing Early Connections activities as available. Supervise and mentor MEP and EC student staff during the academic year.

Qualifications/Experience
Current graduate student in student development, higher education, school counseling or related field. Knowledge of and experience with students from culturally diverse backgrounds and identities (first generation college students, immigrant, low-income, underrepresented in higher education). Understanding of issues, obstacles and strategies to support student success in college. Program assessment and communication of outcomes.
 
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to communicate professionally with campus departments and to establish trust and rapport with undergraduate students. Understanding of and support of the mission of Multi-Ethnic Programs, Seattle Pacific University's statement of faith and Student Standards of Conduct. 

10-12 hours/week during academic year
