Public Health Sciences Office Worker (State Work Study)

The Office Worker will perform a variety of basic clerical duties in support of a longitudinal study of colorectal cancer in our Public Health Sciences division.

Responsibilities

The Office Worker will work under minimal supervision and use judgment in making decisions. Duties include:

  • Maintain manual and computerized files.
  • Perform photocopying.
  • Fold and mail outgoing correspondence.
  • Perform data entry for patient records.
  • May perform minimal word processing.
  • Maintain supply inventory, ordering when needed.
  • Assemble participant recruitment packets and kits.
  • Perform clerical duties requiring more skill and/or judgment, including abstracting data, reviewing department information for accuracy and completeness, and investigating/correcting address information on returned mail.
  • Perform clerical duties requiring special training and/or department knowledge. (For example: performing accounting duties, transferring patient data according to department procedures, coding information to be filed according to department procedures.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned according to study timelines

Qualifications

Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. Applicants must be highly detail oriented and have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
