Social Media and News Assistant
The University Communications office is looking for an undergraduate student with social media and marketing experience for 10-15 hours per week beginning Autumn Quarter 2022. We’re looking for a sophomore, junior, or senior who has career aspirations in marketing, advertising, social media, journalism, or a related field. The student must be active in social media, especially Instagram, as well as proficient in producing engaging content. This position requires strong attention to detail. The student will work directly with the social media specialist and director of public information.
Duties include:
- Helping maintain some social media accounts for SPU and Camp Casey by producing engaging content.
- Coordinating all media publicity for campus events open to the public, including music, art, and theatre events
- Producing monthly reports on social media activity
- Miscellaneous projects as needed
Skills/Qualifications:
- Experience and knowledge in producing engaging content in social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter)
- Eye for design
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Detail-oriented, organized, and independent worker
- Responsible and punctual
- Basic knowledge of SPU community, including faculty members and departments
- Presents self in a neat and poised manner
Experience Required:
- Creating content in multiple social media platforms
- Knowledge of current social media trends
